Refurbished to a high standard, Croftjane Cottage provides peaceful accommodation for people looking for a relaxing break in idyllic surroundings, or for those who want to take advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The cottage sits in a quiet location with wonderful views overlooking beautiful Nithsdale, with the Lake District fells in the background.

Free Wi-Fi is available in Croftjane Cottage. Although this is reasonably reliable, given our location, it’s perhaps not as speedy as you may be used to.
As well as the farm animals, we have three dogs and a cat at Croftjane, hence our decision not to accept visitors’ dogs. Our pets are not allowed in the cottage, but please be warned if you have any severe allergies.
Smoking is strictly forbidden.

Croftjane Cottage, located adjacent to a working farm is set in the beautiful surroundings of Nithsdale. It is really peaceful and has great views across the Dale. We... read more were treated to spectacular views of families of swallows circling the cottage as they fed. The property was clean and well equipped and Claire had provided all the essentials in the kitchen and bathrooms. Claire had sent very clear instructions for arrival and it was therefore easy to find, despite its isolated location.
The only issue is the council road to the farm driveway. As Claire warned it is in a poor state and requires concentration to avoid the potholes. The farm driveway itself is in very good condition. There is a lovely cafe in Thornhill, The Thomas Tosh and the local hotel The Buccleuch & Queensberry serves great food. Highly recommended.
