A very nice space. Lots of room, including a laundry room for washing and drying clothes or storing bikes, and plenty of space to sit outside. We had a few... read more small issues which Claire sorted out quickly. She also showed us the walking route through the fields to Drumlanrich castle. And there are plenty of other local walks to explore. The accommodation is very private - a good distance from the main property (the farm) which itself is a mile or more away from the nearest neighbours. From the front room we got a lovely view of the house martins, Claire's beautiful white horse and a herd of cows in the distance. Recommended 🙂

We had a wonderful relaxing break at Croftjane Cottage.
The cottage was absolutely beautiful and had everything we needed.
Scottish Spring treated us to every kind... read more of weather during our stay (freezing and rainy one day then warm sunshine the next!) and the cottage was perfect for all conditions, warm and welcoming with its amazing log burner on a cold day and the garden was perfect to sit out and enjoy the sunshine.
The views were panoramic and spectacular and the location was so quiet and peaceful and perfect to escape the stresses of life.
Our highlights were watching the Red Kiites circling above the cottage and star gazing in the wonderfully clear skies in the evening.
Claire was a lovely host, friendly and accommodating.
We could not have asked for a nicer break and we can't wait to visit again.

If you like mtb with friends or family or just like to get away, this is worthy of great consideration. The set up of the house is grand and... read more very close to Drumlanrig Castle, its trails, and not too far from 7-stanes. In the Galloway Part of D&G, Galloway Forest Park dark skies are renowned in a light polluted world.
There is a couple of closeby villages Thornhill (largest with all essential local services) and Penpont (eating). There are nice walks and a coastal drive 50mins south that a local promised me took in some spectacular views . I hope to go back.
