We had a lovely Christmas break tucked away in the hills and farmland above Thornhill and Penpont. Really nice touch to have a Christmas tree and a few decorations up... read more at the property. The views are beautiful and so quiet and peaceful. The place had everything we needed. We would stay again.

Beautiful cosy cottage with everything we needed. The additional steps taken (for coronavirus) were very reassuring.
We had a great break and, if you’re looking for a change of... read more scenery (which we all need just now) this place has it in abundance!

Absolutely stunning little cottage set up with wide epic views, the place was super clean when we arrived and the documentation that Claire left was clear and helpful. Being able... read more to use the fire to make it cosy in the evenings just made the stay really nice. It's so quiet during the day and night, you can sit out on the bench or swing, read and admire the incredible views.
Our two kids loved it too, especially chatting to the horses nearby.
Location is good, you're pretty close to some bigger places like Dumfries and Claire did a great job of recommending some decent beaches and attractions, we had some ideas because we've been up before but something we'd not considered, the lead mine tour ended being one of the most unexpected best days out!
I'll be looking to book again for just the misses and I to escape again later this year.
Thanks again.

Great host and stay. Clear and friendly instructions. A well cosy and equipped cottage with great views over the valley. Pretty much everything you need there, but of course make... read more sure you bring enough food and drink with you as it’s a drive or long walk to the shops if you run out of wine! This is the part of Scotland people miss. Stunning scenery, quiet and very good quality Galloway food to be found.
Enjoy
