Refurbished to a high standard, Croftjane Cottage provides peaceful accommodation for people looking for a relaxing break in idyllic surroundings, or for those who want to take advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The cottage sits in a quiet location with wonderful views overlooking beautiful Nithsdale, with the Lake District fells in the background.

Free Wi-Fi is available in Croftjane Cottage. Although this is reasonably reliable, given our location, it’s perhaps not as speedy as you may be used to.
As well as the farm animals, we have three dogs and a cat at Croftjane, hence our decision not to accept visitors’ dogs. Our pets are not allowed in the cottage, but please be warned if you have any severe allergies.
Smoking is strictly forbidden.

The cottage was really warm and welcoming. The host had considered everything and provided great communication. It was a really easy place to take a break. We... read more took our two small children (1 and 4) who loved it - really child friendly. Our kids loved the swing chair in the garden and the horses in the fields opposite.
The host was very transparent about all the measures put in for COVID which made us very comfortable and happy to stay there. We will be looking to book again in the future.

The set up of the house is grand and... read more very close to Drumlanrig Castle, its trails, and not too far from 7-stanes. In the Galloway Part of D&G, Galloway Forest Park dark skies are renowned in a light polluted world.
There is a couple of closeby villages Thornhill (largest with all essential local services) and Penpont (eating). There are nice walks and a coastal drive 50mins south that a local promised me took in some spectacular views . I hope to go back.
