Comfortable 4 star self-catering accommodation; sleeps four. Situated two miles from the village of Thornhill in the Nith valley, not far from Drumlanrig Castle and surrounded by woods and farmland.
Refurbished in 2019 to a high standard, Croftjane Cottage provides peaceful accommodation for people looking for a relaxing break in idyllic surroundings, or for those who want to take advantage of the many opportunities for outdoor recreation. The cottage is in a quiet location with wonderful views overlooking beautiful Nithsdale, with the Lake District fells in the background.
Other information
Free Wi-Fi is available in Croftjane Cottage. Although this is reasonably reliable, given our location, it’s perhaps not as speedy as you may be used to.
As well as the farm animals, we have three dogs and a cat at Croftjane, hence our decision not to accept visitors’ dogs. Our pets are not allowed in the cottage, but please be warned if you have any severe allergies.
Smoking is strictly forbidden.

The cottage was very comfortable and situated in a lovely quiet area on the farm - a great view, and surrounded by wildlife. It was rainy outside but we loved the cosy log fire, the changing landscape and the dark night skies. Thornhill is just down the road and has surprisingly good facilities for a village of its size, and the A76 means it's quite well connected too. We had a great time!

We spent 4 nights at Claire's cottage and we had a wonderful time. The location is scenic and away from all the buzz. Highly recommended if you are looking for a calm and relaxing break

We choose on the web a self-catering cottage close to Dumfries and within reasonable driving distance of Glasgow. When we arrived we could see we had been fortunate in our choice. The cottage was spacious, beautifully clean and the view were great. In the foreground were fields with cows in them and beyond rolling hills.

Lovely property with outstanding views. After a long drive up from London, Claire made sure the file was going when we arrived. Great location for exploring Southwest Scotland. Would definitely stay here again.
